A hands-on Gin School experience
Step into our family-run, award-winning Scottish distillery for a hands-on gin-making experience. With our head distiller leading the session, you’ll build a bespoke recipe, run your own miniature distillation, and take home a personalised 50cl bottle of your finished gin.
Launching 2026 (waitlist) • Small groups (minimum 2 people) • 2–3 hours (tbc) • 18+ • Near Stirling • easy from Edinburgh & Glasgow
Got a flavour profile in mind? Let us know which botanicals you’d love to explore — and if you have a label idea, you’re welcome to send an image or file in advance. We’ll do our best to weave it in and shape your visit into an experience that stays with you — something that lingers in your heart long after your gin’s gone.
Family distillery — learning by doing
We’ll be upfront — this isn’t a classroom, a conveyor-belt workshop, or a scripted experience where everyone leaves with the same result.
Gin School at our distillery is small, hands-on, and personal. You’ll spend real time with our head distiller, asking questions, experimenting with botanicals, and learning how flavour is built — at your pace, in a relaxed setting.
You’re not following a preset recipe here — you’re creating your own.
Join us for a Gin School experience in Clackmannan, where you’ll design your gin from the ground up, distil it on a miniature copper still, and understand the decisions that shape aroma, balance, and finish — including how subtle elements like salt can lift and round flavour.
If you’re looking for a gin making experience near Stirling, an immersive gin school near Edinburgh, or a hands-on distilling experience near Glasgow, you’ll feel right at home — because you’re visiting ours.

A Gin School we can tailor to you
Because we’re small, we can keep things flexible. If you already know what you love, we can lean into it — just let us know in advance:
Flavour direction: citrus-forward, floral, herbal, or spice-led profiles
Gin styles: London Dry vs modern styles (including softer, more floral expressions) — with discussion and guidance on what works best
Botanicals: ingredients you’d like to explore (or avoid entirely)
Label ideas: if you have a design in mind, feel free to send an image or file ahead of your visit and we’ll do our best to incorporate it
What you’ll learn
We’ll guide you through the gin-making process from start to finish — how distillation works, how we make key decisions, and how those choices shape flavour.
You’ll learn botanical selection and rough ratios, so you can build a recipe with balance (not guesswork).
We’ll also clarify what London Dry really means. It isn’t a flavour profile — it’s a quality mark and a specific method of making gin, which is why two London Dry gins can taste completely different. You’ll also try a range of our gins to find out the difference styles of gin.
Finally, we’ll cover how modern gin styles differ like our pink peppercorn and pomegranate gin , and how small changes in approach can create very different results — even with similar botanicals.

Make a day of it: we’re surrounded by great local spots — the Ochil Hills, the historic Kennetpans Distillery, Clackmannan Tower, and The Japanese Garden at Cowden in Dollar are all close by. And if you’re travelling, The Kelpies are an easy stop on the way. We’re also a handy day trip from Gleneagles.
Do I need any distilling experience?
No — Gin School is designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike. We’ll guide you through each step, from botanicals to distillation, in a relaxed, hands-on way.
How old do I need to be to attend Gin School?
Gin School is 18+ only. Alcohol is produced and tasted during the session, so we’re unable to accommodate under-18s.
What do I take home at the end?
Each participant leaves with a personalised 50cl bottle of the gin they’ve created during the session.
How long does Gin School last?
Sessions typically last around 2–3 hours (final timings will be confirmed ahead of launch).
How many people are in each session?
We keep groups intentionally small to keep the experience personal.
Minimum: 2 people. Private sessions may be available by arrangement (subject to availability).
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. Gin School sessions are pre-book only. We’ll be operating via a waitlist ahead of the 2026 launch, with priority access for those registered.
Can I customise my gin?
Absolutely. You’ll choose your own botanicals and flavour direction on the day. If you already have ideas — or ingredients you’d like to avoid — let us know in advance and we’ll tailor the experience where possible.
Can I bring my own label design?
Yes — if you have a label idea, you’re welcome to send an image or file ahead of your visit. We’ll do our best to incorporate it into your bottle.
What if I need to cancel or change my date?
Full cancellation and change terms will be confirmed when bookings open. We aim to be flexible wherever possible, especially given our small group sizes.
Is Gin School accessible?
Step-free access is available — please let us know any requirements in advance so we can make suitable arrangements.
Please note: we do not currently have an accessible toilet on site.
