What You Need
Time to make 3 ~ 5 minutes
Our take on the salt dog be enjoyed all year round but is a stunning drink. Can be shared with a loved one during a woodland picnic (tip we take ours in a thermos flask)
Glassware & Equipment
Highball glass these typically hold 350ml, Cocktail stirring spoon
Step 1
Since we have a slight saltiness to our original gin, we recommend a salt rim to your glassware.
Simply place the course sea salt of your choice. We recommend Blackthorn salt of Ayr which we use in all our spirts as a sacrifice to “Manua”, on a saucer then run a cut lemon or lime wedge around the rim of the glass.
We find it works best if you cut a slit towards the edge of a wedge then ring this around the glass, then roll the edge of the glass in the saucer to give you a rim of sea salt.
Step 2
With the glass now rimmed with salt, fill the glass roughly 1/5 with ice, we recommend around 3 cubes in a standard highball glass.
Step 3
Add 50ml of our gin, 100ml of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice & 15ml simple syrup to the glass, top off with soda water to around 1cm below the brim and then lightly stir. Alternatively combine 50mL of our gin, 15ml Simple syrup and 200ml of Fever-tree Pink Grapefruit Soda and lightly stir
Garnish & Tips
Garnish with a thin wedge of pink grapefruit.
Tip
Replace soda water for sparkling white wine or ginger beer for that extra zing to this cocktail
