What You Need
Time to make 5 ~ 10 minutes
Our take on the classic expresso martini is called the Devon due to the fact it’s just as black as the River Devon once was, did you know in 1952 two miles of it disappeared when the river broke into an abandoned coal mine. Perfect as a Digestif (after dinner) drink or in those winter months when you need a little pick me up in the evenings
Glassware & Equipment
Martini glass typically hold 250ml, cocktail shaker and Hawthorne strainer
Step 1
Brew the coffee in your preferred method of choice, we like to grind our beans then the stove top Bialetti expresso maker on the flat top of the fire.
Step 2
Place ice into the shaker the bottom cup should be almost full of ice.
Add 50ml of our vodka, 50ml Kahlua then 50ml of the warm coffee you just brewed over the ice
Step 3
Seal the shaking cups then shake vigorously for at least 20 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold to the touch
Step 4
Crack the shaker and then strain into the glass using a Hawthorne strainer ( the one with the spring around the outside) discarding any left over ice
Garnish & Tips
Garnish with the 3 coffee beans
Tip
The more you shake, the more micro-foam builds up, giving you that smooth froth when you pour it into your glass.
