Since we have a slight saltiness to our original gin, we recommend a salt rim to your glassware.
Simply place the course sea salt of your choice. We recommend Blackthorn salt of Ayr which we use in all our spirits as a sacrifice to “Mannan”, on a saucer then run a cut lemon or lime wedge around the rim of the glass.
We find it works best if you cut a slit towards the edge of a wedge then ring this around the glass., then roll the edge of the glass in the saucer to give you a rim of sea salt.
With the glass now rimmed with salt add ice to roughly ½ with ice the more the better as this cools the drink without the dilution effect that too little ice carries, we recommend around 8 cubes in a standard Balloon glass.
Add 50ml of our gin and then top up with tonic, swirl in the glass then garnish
We recommend a garnish of lemon swirl and a few juniper berries if you have these to hand but a wedge of lime or orange slice will suffice if you don’t have these to hand.
